On saturday 17th february 2007 Bullocksteads hosted its first ever Northumbria University RL old boys game. The event was a massive success with over 20 old boys turning up and recording a 22-12 victory over the present squad. Man of the match for the old boys went to Andy Jarvis (Newcastle Knights) with current captain Bobby Bahadori (Scotland Students) taking the accolade for the present team. Other notable performances came from Gareth Barron (Wales Students, Gateshead Storm) who turned up at half time, nearley soiled himself before running in two tries and a conversion. Shaun Gilmore (Bramley Buffaloes) also made a cameo, greadly chipping over the top and scoring himself while having an overlap outside. Sportmanship of the day goes to dave whickham (class of '80-'89), who donated the tape from around his ears to current student tom lunn so he could tie his sole back onto his boot. Last man standing award goes to Bryan Stewart who, despite constant reminding that he looked like Chris (the cross dresser off hollyoaks) kept drinking to the end. Also a thankyou to Simon Curtis and BAR 6 for sponsoring the day, Robin Peers and Gateshead thunder, Garteh Barron and Wigan for donating raffle prizes and Rob Jones for refereeing the game. Hope you all enjoyed yourselves and didnt get too much agro from your wives. see you all next year, Ryan Bradley, Chairman.
